WJT

Mood: time for a study break
Stage notes: ''Better is One Day'' playing softly in German, the rest of the house is asleep

Here is an AP article about the Pope's visit to WJT. Among other things, he cautioned against 'buffet style' religion, the threat of terrorism, and the rise of anti-semitism. In the final count it is estimated that >1 million people attended the concluding Mass this past Sunday.

That guy's hair is *SWEET*! :)

And the pope's remarks are kind of amazing... like this: "'Some young Germans, especially in the East, have never had a personal encounter with the good news of Jesus Christ,' he said." He sounds so... Evangelical with that statement.

I found another article about the pope's remarks that mentioned something I thought was interesting: "Pope Benedict XVI has promised the approximately 800,000 participants of the current World Youth Day in Cologne total indulgence, provided they confess their sins, repent and receive Holy Communion. Non-participants may receive partial indulgence if they pray earnestly for a courageous Christian testimony at the mass event."

So, yeah, the pope's now okay with you not going to purgatory. ;)
