Book Rationing

Mood: lazy
Stage notes: doing housework, listening to 'Sea Biscuit' in English

I finally got around to visiting the Köln public library. Before I left the States I e-mailed them to ask if they had an English language collection. They replied that they didn't have English non-fiction, but that they housed popular English fiction. I had hoped that this meant they would have a substantial assortment of current English 'best-sellers'. I was disappointed to find a single short row of books that were mainly classics (read Jane Austin, Twain, O'Conner) which I have already read. I've begun planning how to ration out the remaining books so that I will have things to read for the maximum amount of time. This should be easier given the fact that I have had very little free time to read anything since I have gotten here. One positive aspect of the library that almost erased my disappointment was that they have a large children's department and a multimedia German as a foreign language section.

thanks guys. I appreciate the thought, but I think that it is probably not very cost effective to send books here :(.
