Lately I have been have been placed in the situation of needing to think through a lot of challenges that the local church and the Church in general are facing. This task has demanded hours of research, prayer, and deep thought. To keep things in balance, I am devoting the next couple of weeks to the contemplation of grace. Although the song ''Amazing Grace'' is perpetually spinning on my mental turntable, and I pray for the ability to give and receive grace on a daily basis, I think that my experiential understanding of it is very rudimentary.
Hopefully I will experience it first hand tomorrow because my teacher asked me to bring Pumpernickel bread to class as part of a German food taste-testing day. She reminded me twice not to forget. Unfortunately, after visiting at least 5 bakeries, I have not found it. She is never going to believe me, but maybe she will give grace anyways. I hope so.

Maybe you could just go with the old German standby of sauerkraut?!
