I can't believe the magnitude of the destruction wrought by Hurricane Katrina. It is difficult for me to get up-to-date information here, because I have no TV (and even if I did it is in German), and my internet access is limited many days. Nevertheless, it is clear that the United States needs our prayers at this time of tragedy.

It's so humbling to see the attitude of folks around the world in this time of disaster. I know that so many Americans are not nearly so charitable, sadly.
Some of the survivors will be brought to Michigan, to Lansing and Detroit. I'm praying that we'll be able to show this small subset of the survivors much compassion and care.
