Stage notes: rushing to get to school
On Monday night I babysat for the Bonnets. Not long after they returned home, Jonathan became ill and they were up through the night with him. On Tuesday they went to the doctor, and on Wednesday morning Johanna had to go to the hospital to get her leg x-rayed. By Wednesday afternoon, however, all the kids seemed fine, so we decided to visit Burg Satzvey.
This is a small castle about 30 min. outside of Köln. They were having a production of 'Jim Knopf und Kukas der Lokomotivführer' for children. It was written by Michael Ende, the author of 'The Never Ending Story'. The play was about 2 hours long, and shortly before intermission Johanna and Pia became ill. Because the play was his Kindergarten graduation present, Jonathan wanted to stay to the end. The Bonnets took the other kids home, and Jonathan and I stayed to finish the play. It was well done, and I enjoyed the costumes which were simple but well designed. Afterwards we had ice cream and walked around the castle grounds.
Jonathan takes on a Swan, the Swan wins.
