It's official. . .sort of

Heart: Gratitude/peace
Stage Notes: silence in a dark apartment

On June 1st I opened my yahoo account to find the Goering's most recent prayer letter. I was surprised to see my name mentioned in it as the newest laborer in Cologne. On the 5th I received reassurance from the Bonnet's that they were willing to open their home to me for as long as it takes to find an apartment. I'm taking these signs, and the fact that my mother has begun to cry at the reality of my departure, as a confirmation that it's unofficially official -- God (and GCM) is allowing me to serve Him in Germany.

Germany note: Do you remember "The Never Ending Story"? Michael Ende, a German, was the author. The Grimm brothers (Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Tom Thumb) were also German. On the heavier side, you might want to check out Franz Kafka, Goethe, Kant, Hegel, Nietzsche, or Marx.

Somehow, I thought Kafka was Czech. Maybe he was both...I don't remember and do not feel sufficiently inclined to research it. :)

Actually, I believe he was born in Prague in 1883 when it was a part of the Austrian empire. His first language (and what he wrote in) was German, but because his family was Jewish, he was not fully accepted by either the Czech or the German cultural circles of the city. Now I've heard writers of both nations claim him as their own, even though when he was alive he barely got published.
