Summer of Music and Arts Festival

This past weekend my friend Tom invited me to the Summer of Music and Arts Festival in Koeln. After walking through 30 minutes of torrential rain Friday night, things took a turn for the better. Although the festival was billed as focusing on electronic music, we heard everything from Regge to Eastern European rock. Afternoons were packed with juggling acts, comedians, and lots of stuff with a new age feel. The Balkan Beat was my favorite group, despite their strong anti-US tirades between sets. The other highlight of the weekend was that Tom (an avid cyclist) fixed the bike that another friend had given me. Now the breaks mostly work and it also has a functional light, which is required in Germany.
