What I'm Reading: Night by Elie Wiesel
Karnival is a celebration devoted to rejoicing in the pleasures of life before Lent comes to steal them away. Despite this, there is more despair than delight visible on the streets of Köln this week. It is simply dressed up more gaudily, bringing it into sharper contrast with the more potent delights that I have found through a relationship with Christ. Although normally seeing so many weeping and puking drunks and scantily clad high-school girls would bring me a bit down, I have spent a lot of good time with my classmates this week which has had a softening effect.
Below are some pictures I took at a parade in the Bonnets neighborhood. Martin posted some more here if you would like to see what my costume looked like that day.

Just a quick question that I think I already know the answer to:
Do you really read entire books between postings? For instance, Feb. 22nd you were reading Josh McDowell, and now on the 27th you're reading Elie Wiesel. You know, people like you have made a lot of money doing infomercials in the past...just a tip. :) Hope you're doing well.
Mwhahahah to Brad and Megan's comment...
Also, are the Bonnets supposed to be Martin Luther and Katherine Von Bora? Or am I just a religious history nerd?
Yup, I really do read them all. In fact, many of the titles I eat up never make it to the blog. I'm not sure I'm the infomercial type though (although I do need to find a way to make some money so that I can stay here, so what the heck maybe I'll give it a try).
In response to your previous comment Brandi, may I present to you my jaw dropping to the floor.
