Mood: content, although a bit lonely today
Stage notes: about to have dinner with Heike & the kids (Martin is in Berlin this week w/a missions team from Dortmund)
Saturday I had the pleasure of sharing a meal with two of the students who regularly come to English conversation group. One of them cooked a wonderful dish of lasagne. We talked into the early morning hours, and I really enjoyed the time.
After class today I had another great meal. A group of six students from my language school went grocery shopping and cooked lunch together. Among other things, we had curry chicken, fresh guacamole, rice with vegetables, bread, and apple strudel hot from the oven. Three of the students who came expect to stay in Köln long-term, so I hope that we will have a better chance to get to know one another.
P.S--I was also able to pass along ''The Ragamuffin Gospel'' today, and I think that it was received well.
P.P.S--I got my first package from the States today. It was filled with instant brownies, chocolate chips, and brown sugar (things that are very difficult to find here). You can guess what I will be doing this week :).

To quote Meg on reasons to pack chocolate chips when moving overseas: "The first time you stand over a bar of chocolate with a hammer, just so you can make chocolate chip cookies..."
The Dester kids and I made you cards a couple of weeks ago. I really need to mail them to you...
I need your address... So I can also send you chocolate chips, or anything else that might be difficult to find in Germany...
