Mood: relaxed
Stage notes: mountain of pistachio shells growing as I munch
Today Meg and I decided to test drive her passport with a trip to Canada. Although it would have made for an exciting story, we did not really run the border in Thelma & Louise style. In fact, the bridge where we crossed was congested and for about an hour and 25 min. we advanced through the line at a snail's pace. The friendly feeling shops and restaurant that greeted us when we finally arrived made the delay much more forgivable, however.
We chose to eat at Lola's Lounge. It had a very funky feel to it. A spectrum of colored blown glass rimmed the bar, red lighting from artsy fixtures set the mood, and the windows were filled with fake artichokes on flower stems. Perhaps the most noticable touch was the sculpture of a woman's head topped with an abundance of purple feathers swaying in the breeze. It offered selections such as bree with raspberrys and greens, grilled cheese with lobster, and french dip with horseradish sauce. Yum. Overall, a nice day out.
